Hello Again!

Ok, so I havent blogged in a long time. Its been kinda crazy around my house, but heres some updates. Lacie turned 3 in July and started preschool 2 days a week in September. I was worried that she wouldnt do well but she absolutely loves it! I think she would go every day if she could. Taylor turned 1 in September and is walking, jabbering, and getting in to everything! She is the total opposite of Lacie at this age. I am so amazed with my daughters. I love to just sit and watch them play. They have such a good relationship with each other and I hope they continue to have that close bond throughout their life. Im still working part time as a secretary. For now, that fits my life pretty well. It gives me time with the girls and to get stuff done around the house. As I sit here and think of this year and everything that has happened, both good and bad, I feel very blessed to have such a wonderful family and some very good friends to count on. Im definitely looking foward to the year to come, although with that, it makes me feel much older. I received my invitation to my 10 yr high school reunion a couple of weeks ago. Wow! Talk about time flying by! I cant believe its been that long. And I cant believe all of the things that have happened in that amount of time. I have certainly learned a lot in 10 yrs and although I may not be exactly where I thought I would be in life 10 yrs ago...I am truly happy to have the life that I do. I wouldnt trade it for anything in this world.

Update time!

Ok, so Ive been a bad blogger I guess. I just realized its been about 2 months since my last blog. Whew, time really flies when you are dealing with 2 kids huh? LOL! So, heres an update.

I FINALLY got a job after 4 months of looking. Im working part time as a secretary for a construction company in Decatur. So far its going pretty good. Except that I have missed a few days already due to a sick baby. Taylor ended up having RSV and bronchitis at the same time. She is starting to get over it but last week was rough. We are still working on potty training with Lacie but she just doesnt seem to be interested with it right now. Im trying not to push her too hard, I figure she will go when she is ready. Well, I guess thats about all for an update, but here are a few pics of the girls.

My girls

Ok, so I have got to get better about blogging. It seems like I never have time to do much of anything anymore with 2 kids. So its been about a month since my last blog, so I will recap some of the events that have taken place since then. Taylor is 2 months old and getting soo big! She is already wearing 3-6 month clothes(but I dont guess I should really be suprised because Lacie did the same thing). She is starting to really look around and she is cooing all the time. It is adorable. Lacie has hit the terrible twos with full force! She has had some issues here lately with her behavior. I dont know if part of it is because of Taylor or not. And she has also gotten very attached to me, probably because Im at home with her every day. So that is making it kinda difficult for the grandparents because she wont stay with them much and when she does she usually puts up a little bit of a fight at first. But they are very understanding :). I am still job hunting(and not doing so well at it either). Oh well, im sure I will find something soon. I have pretty much finished my Christmas shopping. For the first time ever, I started really early this year to try and get ahead. All I like is DJs and Moms gifts and I will be done. YAY! And I ordered my Christmas present last week. I had a Mothers ring custom made with the girls birthstones on it. I really think it will be beautiful and unique. I cant wait to wear it! Well about 2 weeks ago, my husband decided he wanted to get rid of my Yukon. He said it was just too much room for us(and I kinda agree). So last night we traded it for a 2007 Toyota Camry. I love it! I am definitely a car person. And it is very roomy, we had no problem putting both carseats in without being cramped. So maybe we are set on a car for a while. I hope. I guess that is it for now. I am posting some recent pics of the girls.

Hello!!

Well it has been quite a while since my last blog. It has been crazy around here, and that is putting it mildly. Taylor Rae made her entrance on September 15th. She weighed 6lb 8oz and was 18 in long. Totally opposite of her sister who was 7lb 5oz and 21 1/2 in long. I can already tell that they are going to be totally different. So heres an update on the past 3 weeks. Lacie is starting to adjust pretty well to having a baby sister. She is actually quite helpful sometimes, almost too helpful lol! Everytime I change Taylor she wants to throw the diaper away(which is fine with me cause its one less thing to have to do). We have to watch her pretty closely though cause she doesnt understand that she cant hug too hard or squeeze too hard on her. She is constantly wanting to give her hugs and kisses. It is really sweet though to see them together. I am so grateful to have two beautiful and healthy daughters.

On the down side to all of this, I got the flu last week and it was HORRIBLE! I woke up sick Tuesday morning. DJ had to come home from work and take me to the doctor. His mom and my mom both came over. His mom took Lacie home with her so we only had to take one child with us to the doctor which was very helpful. Needless to say, I needed backup for the next two days because DJ had to go back to work. My mom came over Wednesday and his mom came over Thursday. I am so grateful to both of them because there was no way I could have took care of two kids feeling the way I did. Thank goodness it only lasted a few days because poor DJ was about to become a nervous wreck. He got thrown into full "mommy" mode with the girls in the evenings because I was so weak. But he did a great job and I am proud of him. I have a wonderful husband.

Anyways, so that is an update for now. Here are some pictures from the hospital and of Taylor.

Countdown!

Well the countdown is on... 4 more weeks till baby Taylor gets here. Unless she comes early, which at this point is fine with me! lol! You know, when I first found out I was due in September, everybody kept telling me "Oh bless your heart, you are going to be miserable by then because you have to go through the entire summer being pregnant." And I just blew it off and said "yeah yeah ok sure"...I really should have paid attention because they were right. I am miserable and ready to be not pregnant anymore. Actually Im kinda getting excited for her to get here. I cant wait to see how Lacie reacts with her. I am so grateful that I will have two beautiful girls and that they will have that wonderful sister bond.
And I swear Lacie is talking more and more everyday. It seems like almost literally that she just woke up one morning talking like a grown up. It went from jabbering to complete sentences. She repeats everything, and I mean EVERYTHING! You can say a word to her once and it freezes in her head. Sometimes she just walks up to me and starts talking to me about her babies or what is on tv(which is usually spongebob or dora). Its adorable and so funny to see her carry on a full conversation with someone because she seems to really get involved in it, hand motions and all!
I have a feeling she will be teaching Taylor early on.

What a weekend!

This was definitely a weekend to remember. To start things off, Friday night my hubby and I left Lacie to spend the night with my parents, which seems to be becoming an every other weekend thing(which is totally fine with me). Anyways, then we headed off to Tanner High School for the Truck and Tractor pull. We try to go to this event every year. Well, anybody that was in North Alabama Friday knows that it was stormy. I honestly thought that the weather had cleared up and that it was going to be a nice night. WRONG! About an hour and fifteen minutes into the show, it started raining, out of nowhere! So, at first we got under the bleachers thinking it would pass. Wrong again. It came a flood! So me and Dj got to walk about half a mile to the car with nothing to cover us. Needless to say, we got soaked. And we couldnt run because there were so many people. I was soo aggrevated! But then after we got to the car and were trying to dry off and warm up, it became funny. Me and Dj just sat there and laughed about it all. You know you must really be in love with someone if you can sit and laugh about stupid and crazy stuff like that. Anyways, so we headed home to change clothes and then went and rented a movie. It actually turned out to be a nice evening, despite the rain. Saturday was kind of a lazy day for us. We picked up Lacie and headed back home. Dj had to work on some stuff for his dad, so me and Lacie took a much needed nap. After the r&r, we headed to moms for a little bit, then went by pizza hut for some dinner and rented another movie(Alvin and the Chipmunks) and headed home. So this was our family night and it was great! We have tried to start doing this at least one night every weekend. Yesterday was family day, I guess. My husband took me and Lacie to the mall. Lacie got some new tennis shoes(much needed). And he suprised me by taking me to get the diaper bag I wanted for Taylor. And the biggest suprise was when he took me to Books a Million to get Tori Spelling's book. I had mentioned a few times that I wanted to get it eventually. But, unfortunately, they were sold out so I will have to find it somewhere else. But he still got the brownie points for effort! I love my husband so much sometimes. Its little surprises like that that remind me how lucky I am. Anyways, that was my wonderful weekend. Now on to the joys of the week, lol!

Family Night

So, this past friday night I got the idea that me, dj and lacie should have
a "family night". So we took her to eat her favorite food, pizza. Then we went to the mall and just walked around for a little while. And of course we had to stop at the cookie store and get a cookie(or coobie as she calls it). Then Dj decided that he wanted us to go play putt putt golf. For anyone who doesnt know my husband well.. him and my dad are die hard golfers so of course they have this plan to teach Lacie(and probably Taylor too) how to golf. So this was her first "golfing" experience(aside from riding in the cart when me, mom, dad, and dj go). And she is definitely a pro. She loved it. Of course Dj had to help her hit it and everytime he would get ready to help her he would say "now watch lacie". Well anyone who has a 2 year old knows that they pick up every phrase. So by the time we were half way through the game she started putting the ball down in the middle of the putting area and saying "now watch me"(which actually came out as "now botch...me") but it was cute anyways and then she would say "I hit" and swing the club. Of course the ball didnt go anywhere so she would pick it up walk a little further and do it all again. And when she got close to the hole she would pick up the ball and put it in the hole and then turn around and smile at us as if to say " Haha I did it all by myself". All in all it was a wonderful night. We will definitely have to go again soon. And by the way, she beat both of our scores, which im sure had a lot to do with dj helping her, but thats ok.
