What a weekend!

This was definitely a weekend to remember. To start things off, Friday night my hubby and I left Lacie to spend the night with my parents, which seems to be becoming an every other weekend thing(which is totally fine with me). Anyways, then we headed off to Tanner High School for the Truck and Tractor pull. We try to go to this event every year. Well, anybody that was in North Alabama Friday knows that it was stormy. I honestly thought that the weather had cleared up and that it was going to be a nice night. WRONG! About an hour and fifteen minutes into the show, it started raining, out of nowhere! So, at first we got under the bleachers thinking it would pass. Wrong again. It came a flood! So me and Dj got to walk about half a mile to the car with nothing to cover us. Needless to say, we got soaked. And we couldnt run because there were so many people. I was soo aggrevated! But then after we got to the car and were trying to dry off and warm up, it became funny. Me and Dj just sat there and laughed about it all. You know you must really be in love with someone if you can sit and laugh about stupid and crazy stuff like that. Anyways, so we headed home to change clothes and then went and rented a movie. It actually turned out to be a nice evening, despite the rain. Saturday was kind of a lazy day for us. We picked up Lacie and headed back home. Dj had to work on some stuff for his dad, so me and Lacie took a much needed nap. After the r&r, we headed to moms for a little bit, then went by pizza hut for some dinner and rented another movie(Alvin and the Chipmunks) and headed home. So this was our family night and it was great! We have tried to start doing this at least one night every weekend. Yesterday was family day, I guess. My husband took me and Lacie to the mall. Lacie got some new tennis shoes(much needed). And he suprised me by taking me to get the diaper bag I wanted for Taylor. And the biggest suprise was when he took me to Books a Million to get Tori Spelling's book. I had mentioned a few times that I wanted to get it eventually. But, unfortunately, they were sold out so I will have to find it somewhere else. But he still got the brownie points for effort! I love my husband so much sometimes. Its little surprises like that that remind me how lucky I am. Anyways, that was my wonderful weekend. Now on to the joys of the week, lol!

Family Night

So, this past friday night I got the idea that me, dj and lacie should have
a "family night". So we took her to eat her favorite food, pizza. Then we went to the mall and just walked around for a little while. And of course we had to stop at the cookie store and get a cookie(or coobie as she calls it). Then Dj decided that he wanted us to go play putt putt golf. For anyone who doesnt know my husband well.. him and my dad are die hard golfers so of course they have this plan to teach Lacie(and probably Taylor too) how to golf. So this was her first "golfing" experience(aside from riding in the cart when me, mom, dad, and dj go). And she is definitely a pro. She loved it. Of course Dj had to help her hit it and everytime he would get ready to help her he would say "now watch lacie". Well anyone who has a 2 year old knows that they pick up every phrase. So by the time we were half way through the game she started putting the ball down in the middle of the putting area and saying "now watch me"(which actually came out as "now botch...me") but it was cute anyways and then she would say "I hit" and swing the club. Of course the ball didnt go anywhere so she would pick it up walk a little further and do it all again. And when she got close to the hole she would pick up the ball and put it in the hole and then turn around and smile at us as if to say " Haha I did it all by myself". All in all it was a wonderful night. We will definitely have to go again soon. And by the way, she beat both of our scores, which im sure had a lot to do with dj helping her, but thats ok.

potty training

Well, we have made it past the birthday parties for a while. We had 3 back to back weekends full of them. And of course the one in the middle was Lacie's. That was a handful in itself! So now we are back to the everyday routines around the house. Im beginning to wonder if Lacie will ever get potty trained. She understands what the potty is and that you pee pee in it but not that she needs to go in it. She has a little dolly potty seat that goes to her little house and she will bring it to me and say "mommy, potty, pee pee". Well the first time she did that I was excited because I thought "finally she has figured it out and is telling me that she needs to go potty"...Wrong! Next thing I know she has the seat on the floor and has a baby sitting on it and she is saying" Mommy, baby pee pee". I really wanted to get her potty trained before Taylor gets here, but Im guessing that is not going to happen(unless a miracle happens in the next 9 weeks lol!). Oh well... I guess she will go when she gets ready.

Life in general

Ok, so does anybody ever wonder...what next? Sometimes I wonder about life in general. I get so tired of worrying about things like money, bills, and stuff like that. Everytime I think things are finally working out the way they are supposed to...BAMM!!!...another problem. I know Im supposed to be thankful for everything I have(and I am believe me), but I could do without all of the crappy stuff ya know. I swear I dont know what I would do if I didnt have my friends to listen to me vent(cause Im sure DJ gets tired of hearing it lol!) Anyways...enough venting on my part. I guess the saying is true: "everything happens for a reason"...sometimes I just wish I knew ahead of time what the reason was.

What a week!

Well, it has been quite a week and going to be a hectic weekend too. Lacies birthday party is tomorrow and I still have to blow up balloons and put up decorations. I spent the whole day cleaning, and for those of you who have little children you know how hard that is to do! Everytime I put something up, Lacie gets it right back out. I finally had to take her to DJ's mom's house so that I could finish cleaning. I'm excited about this party because it doesnt feel rushed like last year. Last year, we moved into our house the weekend before her party so we were still trying to get stuff moved in and put up along with planning her party. And to top things off this year, its raining like crazy here right now. I hope it doesnt rain enough to flood or anything because her party is going to be outside. Oh well! I guess we will just have to wait and see what happens.
